“A Call to Prayer” for America!  

The November 6th Presidential election is just around the corner. Many have referred to it as the most critical elections in modern times. Why?

Regardless of your political affiliation, be it Republican, Democrat, or Independent, as Christians, we must honor Christ first. As such, our goal should always be to honor God in every area of life, including our political choices. We do so by putting biblical values first and letting God guide our conscience and our choice. We are asking you to join us and numerous other Bible believing Americans across the nation, in 40 days of prayer leading up to the presidential election on November 6th.

Pivotal issues important to every Bible believing Christian are at stake in this election; issues that every Christian needs to be aware of; issues that have been openly debated: such as redefining the definition of marriage that give same-sex marriages an equivalent legitimacy as traditional, biblical marriages that defines marriage as being between one man and one woman. This biblical definition of marriage, as never before, is seeing a full frontal assault in both the public and political arenas. Same-sex-marriage is not only being openly recognized but publicly endorsed and encouraged by our own government. As we are told in Heb 13:4-5 -- 4 Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral. We are seeing a similar assault against the sanctity of life, where abortion-on-demand has been taken to yet another level, with the morning-after “abortion pill” being incorporated into the national healthcare law; not only being included as an option, but actually mandated by the government regardless of an organization’s religious beliefs or an individual business owner’s moral conscience. This is a direct affront on religious liberty in violation of the First Amendment of our Constitution, which declares: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof…”  If these violations of God’s law stand unchallenged, another blow will be struck against the sanctity of life and the rights of the unborn. As we are told in Ps 139:13-14: 13 -- For you [oh God] created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made… (NIV) 

The U.S. national debt has exceeded $16 trillion, having grown by $5 trillion since 2008. At the current level of federal spending, another $1.3 trillion annually is being added to the national debt, which is expected to reach $26 trillion by 2022. The level of debt is both unprecedented and unsustainable.

Is it a moral issue? Why it is viewed as a moral issue is how this generation is creating an unsustainable debt that will impact future generations. In other words, we are borrowing our children and their children’s inheritance and wealth to meet our needs, today. Do we have a moral right to do that?

Those that fought in World War II against Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan have been referred to as the “greatest generation” because of their unselfish sacrifices, with many paying the ultimate price of giving their lives. We are not being called on to give our lives, but we are being called on to care enough to reach out to the Lord to put our Nation on track, once again, with moral and biblical values. We will not be saved by any political party or individual candidate, but conscience dictates that we take the time to understand and evaluate their values and policies, and vote for those candidates that honor God accordingly.

We are told in 2 Chronicles 7:14 that we must turn from our wicked ways; as a people and as a Nation and return to the biblical values that acknowledge the sanctity of life and traditional marriage between one man and one woman; we must be responsible for our own debt and take the necessary steps to do so.

Please mark your calendar and start telling family, friends and neighbors to raise their voices in prayer for the presidential election on November 6th. We have God’s own Words on the importance of praying for our Nation.

2 Chron 7:14-15

14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. (NIV)

How important is the U.S. Constitution for preserving American Liberties?

It took Vigilance to Establish and Preserve Freedom
Our freedoms, as Americans, must not be taken for granted. To do so, they will become less relevant, until they are potentially lost as a result. It's important to recognize, as the Founders stated explicitedly in the Declaration of Independence, our liberty was bestowed by our Creator, not by the good wishes of government. This truth serves as the foundation stone of our Republic.

Stated in the Declaration of Independence: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." As further stated, "That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed...." 

Government Control Over Healthcare.
ObamaCare, formally known as "The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act," was passed by Congress on March 21, 2010, and signed into federal law by President Barack Obama on March 23. 
  • Political analyst and commentator Dick Morris has asserted that Obama's health care plan will lead to the significant use of rationing senior health care which will decrease the life span of senior citizens.
  • The centerpiece of ObamaCare is the individual mandate, a provision that makes it mandatory for every citizen to purchase private health insurance, which is unprecedented in American history.

So what's in it? We are only now starting to understand the consequences of "having to pass it to find out what's in it."  For many, the consequences are chilling, because interpretation of the law has been handed over to a bureaucrat, Department of Health and Human Services, Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, who decided that for the betterment of women 's health (from her viewpoint) -- and no matter what the Constitution may state -- Catholic entities were going to be required to pay for birth control, regardless of their religious beliefs.

This is an obvious violation of the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution which guarantees freedom of religion, stating: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..."

Let Freedom Ring!

The photos are so clear and the color so vibrant, that it looks as though they were taken only... yesterday. It's a vivid reminder of how much more this generation has in comparison to past generations. The changes are the direct result of a free enterprise system and individual initiative (and risk taking) in which America thrived and we all benefited. America is unique in that respect. But, we are swinging toward too powerful a federal government, imposing too many regulations, and too high taxes that stiffle initiative and are designed to transfer wealth from the some to give to others.
